A Year Of Blogging Every Day
The last day I didn’t post here was August 19, 2012. It has officially been a full year of posting every day. A full year of writing even when I didn’t feel like it. A full year of learning what works here for me, what doesn’t, what I like doing, what I hate, and what I want more of. A full year of experimenting. A full year of not stopping.
I realized last year that it’s a lot easier to keep going than it is to get started. So I kept going. As I went, I noticed the voices of Is this good enough? and Who do you think you are? started to quiet a bit. On the hard days, I kept going because I knew I had to.
Throughout this year I’ve heard some chatter about people just posting to post and what a waste that is. I’ve heard that you should only post if you have something to say. The thing is, we all have something to say. We all have a story to tell. But sometimes, you need to get out of your own way in order to tell that story. Posting every day is my way of getting out of my own way. It’s working. This space makes me better. Every day.
Thank you for joining me here.
