It’s almost summer! It’s time to celebrate!
When we first had our daughter and the Christmas season approached, we weren’t sure what to do. We aren’t religious and didn’t know what we wanted to celebrate with her, if anything, but didn’t want to lose some of the magic of celebrating in the winter. Having something special to look forward to and getting together with friends and family was very important to us, but we didn’t know how to do that without a cultural or religious tradition. Then we discovered celebrating the seasons.
We quickly found out that so much of what we celebrate for Christmas comes from traditions of welcoming winter on the winter solstice. We knew right away that welcoming the seasons would be a perfect fit for our family.
